Frequently Asked Questions
01.What is the IES Guarantee to you ?
When you choose Solar and install solar panels on your roof you are guaranteed a reduction in your electricity bill. Our specially selected panels of Monocrystalline or Polycrystalline are of high durability and have a design life of 30 years and products are guaranteed by the OEM for 12 years for your peace of mind.
02.What is the durability of solar panels?
Solar Panel efficiency decreases over time but your panels will still produce electricity past their 30 year design life. The decrease in efficiency per annum is estimated at an average rate of 0,5%. The decrease rate in efficiency is taken into consideration during system design.
03.What happens during a power outage or load shedding
The system or solution installed will takeover the running loads. The standby time will be determined by your choice of solution and the consumption thereof. Our minimum design standby by time is 4.5 hours.
04.What happens to solar panels when it’s cloudy or raining?
Solar panels can use direct or indirect irradiance to generate electricity. On cloudy days the irradiation might not be direct but some electricity will be generated since indirect sunlight is available. Cooler climate conditions also help keep the panels operating efficiently and rain also washes away dust and dirt.
05.What is an inverter and how does it work?
An inverter is an electronic device that changes direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC). The input voltage, output voltage, frequency and overall power handling depend on the design of the specific device or circuitry.
06. Solar battery lifespan
The general range for a solar battery's useful lifespan is between 5 and 15 years depending on the depth of discharge. If you install a solar battery today, you will likely need to replace it at least once to match the 25 to 30 year lifespan of your PV system.
